Visit Denniston, the once bustling coal town and location of the best selling books by Jenny Patrick 'Denniston Rose' and 'Heart of Coal'. Denniston no longer boasts a large population and many of the buildings are now dust but this area's rich history can be discovered through this interpreted tour. You may not find Rose here but you will enjoy finding out more about the grit and determination required to live and work on 'The Hill'.
The tour also lets you explore the other icons of the Buller region including the magificent Coast Road, Punakaiki and the Pancake Rocks, Tauranga Bay Seal colony, and Westport's Coaltown Museum.
